These terms cover the LaneStory apps and this website, both operated by ByteImagine AS, a company registered in Norway. Using the app means accepting them.
What LaneStory is
LaneStory presents swimming competition data published by national federations and their timing partners. It is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any swimming federation, club or timing provider.
Accuracy
We present the data as the source publishes it, and we work hard to parse it faithfully — but we do not control it. Programmes change, heats are rescheduled, and timing systems occasionally publish corrections.
Do not rely on LaneStory as the authoritative record. For anything that matters — whether a swimmer qualified, when to report to the marshalling area, what an official time is — the federation's own published result is the record, and the officials at the meet are the authority.
Subscriptions
- LaneStory Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- The trial period is 30 days. Unless cancelled before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown at purchase.
- Cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period runs to its end.
- Prices vary by country and may change. An existing subscription keeps its price until you cancel it.
Acceptable use
- Use LaneStory for following swimmers and meets — personal, family and club use.
- Do not attempt to extract the app's data feeds in bulk or resell the data.
- Do not use the app to harass, track or build a profile of any swimmer.
Following a swimmer is private to your device and is never disclosed to them or to anyone else. Please respect that this is a sport largely played by children.
Availability
LaneStory depends on external systems that we do not run. When a federation's service is down or changes without notice, parts of the app will not work until we adapt. We aim to fail honestly — telling you a source is unavailable rather than showing stale data as if it were current — but we cannot promise uninterrupted service.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, ByteImagine AS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app — including a missed race. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Norwegian or EU consumer law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence continue to apply.
